Veteran safety Justin Reid earned two Super Bowl rings during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, and is set to earn a huge payday if he hits the open market in free agency next month.
How much could his next contract be worth?
Reid’s fair market value in 2025 could be $17,065,075 based on projections by the analysts at Spotrac. He is among the highest-ranked safeties in the NFL and will command a premium in negotiations as a two-time champion. Spotrac predicts he will be offered a three-year contract worth $51,195,225.
The big question is: Which franchise is going to foot the bill to sign Reid?
There is no doubt that Kansas City’s coaching staff would like to keep Reid around for the 2025 season. However, the Chiefs might not be able to afford to pay the veteran defensive back what he is worth and also be able to address other needs in the wake of their loss in Super Bowl LIX.
