2025 NFL Draft: 8 Teams that Should be Most Aggressively Trying to Trade Up | Bleacher Report
Kansas City Chiefs7 of 8
The Kansas City Chiefs got mollywhopped by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, but there’s no time for self-pity. The Chiefs need to address the issues that cost them so dearly against the Philadelphia Eagles.
None are bigger than an offensive line that was dominated from start to finish. As Zoltan Buday wrote for Pro Football Focus, left tackle was an issue for the Chiefs all season long.
“Players lining up at left tackle for the Chiefs in 2024 combined to earn a 50.0 PFF pass-blocking grade and allowed pressure on 11.3% of pass plays,” he said. “Both were the worst marks in the NFL. That level of production at one of the most important positions is a recipe for disaster, and Kansas City will almost certainly need to address the position. Whether they reshuffle the line and move right tackle Jawaan Taylor to the left side, sign or draft a new player or trust one of their younger players to fill the hole is yet to be seen.”
Add in that guard Trey Smith could be priced out of Kansas City’s range in free agency, and the Chiefs potentially have massive holes at both guard and tackle.
Kansas City has to fix one early in the 2025 draft.
Target: Ohio State OT Josh Simmons

5. Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs
Reid gets graded on a bit of a curve here. The Kansas City Chiefs clearly spend most of the regular season figuring out what could work at the end of the season, but there has also been a heavy reliance on the quarterback bailing the offense out in bad situations.
There are still great plays and sequencing, but there’s not always enough to make up for some of the deficiencies the offense has had with receiver and offensive line injuries. Still, this team was 10th in EPA per play during the regular season as they were working things out.
Jason Kelce thinks Travis Kelce already knows if he wants to keep playing or retire | NBC Sports
Jason Kelce said on The Steam Room that his younger brother most likely knows deep down whether he’s going to play or retire.
“I think Travis — I think he probably, in his heart, already knows what he wants to do,” Jason said.
Jason said that when he retired last year, he talked it over with Travis repeatedly, but that Travis will probably have a simple process where he just asks himself, Do I want to play or do I want to retire?
“I’m sure we will talk about it. We’ve already talked about it a little bit, and I’m sure he’s going to go through a process of figuring that out,” Jason said “We’re very similar people, but we also have different ways of thinking about things. Sometimes I can way overanalyze situations, and any big decision I’m having in my life I’ll think about the negatives and what about this or that, and I want to do too much, and my brother has this way of being like, ‘Hey man, you want to play or you don’t want to play.’”
Eagles Defender Played Second Half of Super Bowl LIX Win With One Arm After Injury | SI
Not only is Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith Jr. a Super Bowl champion, but he’s a warrior too.
Smith Jr. tore his triceps during the Eagles’ 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, then proceeded to play through the injury in the second half, according to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Smith, who was essentially playing with one arm in the second half, was no worse for the wear. The Georgia product tallied four pressures and two quarterback hits in 30 snaps, adding to the onslaught the Eagles’ defensive line poured on the Chiefs’ offensive line and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Chris Jones and Creed Humphrey Land in the Top 10 of PFF’s Player Rankings | PFF
The folks at PFF recognized defensive tackle Chris Jones (No. 8) and center Creed Humphrey (No. 7) on Friday, making the Chiefs one of three teams to feature multiple players in the top 10 of PFF’s rankings.
Jones, who checked in as PFF’s top defensive tackle and second-best overall defensive player, ranked sixth among all players in 2024 with 74 total pressures. Here’s what PFF wrote about Jones:
“Jones led all interior defenders with 88 pressures this season, earning an elite 91.5 pass-rush grade. This is the sixth time in the past seven seasons that Jones has recorded at least a 90.0 pass-rush grade. Jones also missed just one tackle all season, tied for the fewest among any defensive lineman who played at least 500 snaps this season.”

Micah Parsons, Tyreek Hill, DK Metcalf among NFL stars who SHOULD be traded this offseason | NFL.com
Seattle Seahawks · WR
This would be the NFC West receiver I would be looking at this offseason, rather than Samuel or Kupp. I feel DK Metcalf would have the most to offer a team — like the Commanders, especially if they miss out on other options — that could use an upgrade at the position; he’s still just 27 years old and has topped 900 receiving yards in each of his six pro seasons so far. On the Seahawks’ end, they have a budding superstar in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who posted 1,100 receiving yards and earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2024. Metcalf is also one of many key players not currently under contract for 2026. I know Seattle was playoff adjacent in 2024, but this feels like a great time to recoup some draft capital in the interest of fostering long-term growth under Mike Macdonald.
Source – Rams let Stafford’s agent talk to teams, gauge value | ESPN
The news was first reported by NFL Network. The sides have been discussing a reworked contract, a source told ESPN.
After the Rams won Super Bowl LVI, the team and Stafford agreed to a contract extension in March 2022. Stafford has two seasons left on the extension, with $4 million guaranteed in 2025 and none in 2026.
Last offseason, Stafford and the Rams agreed to a reworked contract, an adjustment that took until the day Stafford reported to training camp. Rams coach Sean McVay said after the season that he hoped the team and Stafford, 37, would have clarity on the situation “sooner than later.”

Chiefs Roster: How the team can get stronger at wide receiver for 2035
Tutu Atwell
This speedy Los Angeles Rams receiver would definitely fit into the Chiefs’ offense. He is entering unrestricted free agency after setting career highs in receptions (42), receiving yards (562), and catch rate (68%).
Since most of the notable free-agent wideouts are over 30, the 25-year-old Atwell could find a competitive market for his services. He possesses the speed that teams seek for crossing routes and vertical patterns — and it’s precisely why Kansas City could target him if Brown isn’t re-signed.
