Kansas City is hosting Tampa Bay in Week 9’s “Monday Night Football” matchup.
The (7-0) Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the (4-4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Week 8 edition of “Monday Night Football.” Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m. (Arrowhead Standard Time) on ESPN and ABC affiliates nationwide.
The NFL’s only remaining undefeated team, the Chiefs are at least three games up on the rest of the AFC West after their 27-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon. They’ve now won 13 consecutive games — tying a franchise record — as they continue their attempt to become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers are struggling. After winning three of four games to start the season, they’ve lost three of the last four — including a 31-26 loss to the Atlanta Falcons that pushed them into second place in the NFC South. They have had some bright spots this season — including a 51-27 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 6 and their 20-16 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 2 — but wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin will both miss Monday night’s game. That’s not good news for quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is having the best statistical season of his career.
