Earlier Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced a collaboration with Hallmark to produce Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. The production is reportedly set to start filming next month and Arrowhead Stadium is on the list of filming sites.
“We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. “As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”
After the news was announced, NFL insider Dianna Russini suggested the film should include a sports reporter.
“I hope they cast a sports reporter!” Russini said on social media – potentially putting her name out there for an audition, if the role pops up.
Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley Jr. will star in a made-for-TV movie set to release this holiday season.
According to the press release’s summary, King will play Alana, an avid Chiefs supporter vying to win “Fan of the Year.” She meets Derrick (Hynes), a fan engagement director who is judging the contest.
There’s no mention of a sport reporter, sorry Dianna.
