For better or worse, the Dallas Cowboys have been referred to as “America’s Team” for several decades. It’s a nickname that ESPN’s Courtney Cronin believes should be given to a different NFL franchise.
During this Friday’s edition of “First Take,” Cronin was asked if the Cowboys still deserve to be called “America’s Team.”
Cronin claims the Kansas City Chiefs are now “America’s Team” due to their playoff success over the past few years.
“I think it’s only fair since Stephen A. is not here that the Cowboys trolling continues with this question. The answer is absolutely not. They haven’t been America’s Team since the last time they won the Super Bowl,” Cronin said. “You know who America’s Team? The Kansas City Chiefs. In an era that is defined by often forced parity, you got a dynasty. We don’t have dynasties in the NFL all that often anymore.”
Cronin isn’t the only person who has made this argument before, but that doesn’t make her right.
The reality is the Cowboys are still extremely polarizing. Some people want to watch them play every Sunday in hopes of seeing them lose, while others support their every move.

The Chiefs have established themselves as the newest dynasty in NFL history, make no mistake about it.
Are the Chiefs deserving of the title “America’s Team” though? We’re not so sure.
