Earlier this week, multiple reports emerged stating that an American man who had threatened and stalked Taylor Swift was arrested prior to one of her shows in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The 34-year-old man, whose name has not been released, is being detained until tomorrow. Swift has one more show remaining in Gelsenkirchen tonight before moving on to perform in Hamburg and Munich.
Swift is no stranger to stalking issues. Back in January, a man named David Crowe was arrested twice in three days while lurking outside of her apartment in New York City.
This unidentified man reportedly made threats toward Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, on social media. Police were made aware of the threats by event organizers.
Not surprisingly, Swift fans are breathing sighs of relief that this situation was handled without something more serious taking place.
“And he had tickets to the show. This is infuriating and scary,” one fan said.
“Dang, that’s wild,” another person added.
“Taylor Swifts security better than Secret Service,” others chimed in.
“Was this person aware Travis Kelce is 6’5 and is paid millions to shove around other very large men? It doesn’t seem like a well thought out idea,” a fourth person said.
“So scary!!!” a fifth person added.
Kudos to the German authorities for doing their jobs well here.
