Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’s Super Bowl LIX performance was regrettable for the multiple-time league MVP. The two interceptions and constant pressure throughout the game led to many critics, including former NFL players, sharing their thoughts on his legacy.
San Francisco 49ers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Young appeared recently on the ‘Dan Patrick Show’ breaking down Mahomes’ rough night.
“It felt like he was looking for something great or amazing or super,” said Young. “You know, like the Superman stuff of his early days when he really just dropped it off, get it out blitz coverage, I mean.”
Young believed Mahomes had enough experience in big games to make adjustments at the line of scrimmage.
“He threw the pick six,” said Young. “He got hit and threw the next pick, and all of a sudden, it’s 24 to nothing, and You’ve just put yourself in a bind you can’t get out of.”

Although he dealt with offensive line issues throughout the night, Mahomes took responsibility for the loss. The offseason will have plenty of questions regarding the game, which will be all fuel for next season.
