Week 5’s “Monday Night Football” is the first of four Kansas City games that will not be carried on a broadcast network.
The Week 5 “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints on ESPN is the first of four remaining regular-season Chiefs games that will not be carried on a traditional broadcast network like CBS, FOX, NBC or ABC.
The others are the Week 9 MNF game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on ESPN, the Week 13 “Black Friday” game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Amazon Prime and the Week 17 Christmas Day game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Netflix.
As we reported in May, the NFL remains committed to making all games — even those being carried “exclusively” on these cable networks and streaming services — available through local television stations in each team’s home market. But in May, we didn’t know which local stations would carry these matchups.
We can now report that — just like this Monday’s game — the Week 9 ESPN game will be carried locally on KMBC/9. The Week 13 Amazon Prime matchup will be available on KSHB/41. And Arrowhead Pride has now confirmed that the Week 17 Netflix contest will be broadcast on KCTV/5.
As always, you can keep up with all schedule and TV updates through our Chiefs schedule page.
