This week’s NFL action concludes with the Vikings against the Rams on MNF — from Arizona.
Here we are. The NFL’s Wild Card Weekend action concludes with the last “Monday Night Football” game of the season: the (14-3) Minnesota Vikings at the (10-7) Los Angeles Rams from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on ESPN and ABC affiliates nationwide — including KMBC/9 in Kansas City.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Vikings are favored by 2.5 points.
The NFC’s No. 4 postseason seed was originally set to host this matchup against the No. 5 seed at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California — but as multiple wildfires continued to rage in Los Angeles, the league decided to move the game to the Arizona Cardinals’ home stadium.
Last Monday, the 14-2 Detroit Lions hosted the 14-2 Vikings at Ford Field. The winner would claim the NFC North title and the conference’s No. 1 postseason seed — while the loser would drop to the No. 5 seed. With a 31-9 win, Detroit earned the right to take the next weekend off — and Minnesota scheduled flights to LAX that really needed to go to PHX.
Before last Monday, the Vikings had won nine straight games after their Week 8 loss to the Rams. I think Minnesota will be motivated to put that loss — and the one to the Lions — behind them with a 31-17 victory.
