Although this really shouldn’t surprise anyone, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was asked to be in Netflix docuseries “Receiver.” He ultimately turned down the offer.
During an appearance on the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast, Kelce explained why he turned down Netflix’s offer.
“I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything,” Kelce said. “I’m way over the reality [expletive], dude. I’m out on that [expletive].”
We can’t blame Kelce for feeling this way. The spotlight has been on him just about every single week due to his relationship with Taylor Swift.
While some fans applaud Kelce for turning down Netflix’s offer, some aren’t buying it at all.
“I feel him though, at some point you want some semblance of normalcy,” a fan said.
Another fan replied, “Taylor said not a chance there’s a camera crew following us around unless it’s mine.”
“You know it was Taylor that told him no on this,” a third fan wrote. “There’s no current player that loves the Media and camera in his face more than him.”
“Basically he’s dating a mega star and doesn’t need even more cameras on him. I get it, respect,” a fourth fan said.
Kelce can’t really control what everyone says about him. He can, however, decide which reality shows he wants to be on. In this particular case, he told Netflix that he’d rather watch from the sideline.
Besides, Netflix still managed to get big names to sign up for “Receiver,” including Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson and George Kittle.
