As Travis Kelce heads into his 12th NFL season, he has no plans on leaving the Kansas City Chiefs. But in a recent post on X, he couldn’t help but remark that there’s one place he wouldn’t mind leaving Kansas City to play in.
On Saturday, Kelce’s New Heights podcast with his brother Jason shared a clip of the two talking about the possibility of the NFL putting a team in London some day. When the question arose whether either of the brothers would want to play there, Kelce went all in.
“Yes… I’m waiting for that team to play for another team other than the Chiefs. Like, that’s the only situation (I’d leave the Chiefs for) – if I get to play abroad,” Kelce said.
There was a little bit of backlash to Kelce’s comments so he decided to get ahead of it with a post on X, stating that he has no plans to leave the Chiefs, but likes the idea of playing in London.
“Let’s be honest, I’d never leave the Chiefs… but playing in London sounds fun,” Kelce wrote on X.
The NFL has been mulling having a team in London for quite some time due to the enormous popularity that the league has found at nearly all of the international games that are played there – even the bad ones.
Will there ever be an NFL team in London? What are the odds that Kelce is a part of that foreign team?
