Travis Kelce is not afraid of the spotlight, but he apparently has no desire to do reality television.
During Kelce’s appearance on the “Bussin’ with The Boys” podcast last week, he revealed that Netflix approached him to be featured on their upcoming NFL documentary series, Receiver. The project is the sequel to its popular Quarterback series.
Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes starred in Quarterback, but the All-Pro tight end had no desire to follow in his footsteps
“After (Patrick Mahomes) did (Quarterback), I did get asked about it,” Kelce said. “I just — I don’t know. I’d rather just play ball, man. I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything. I’m way over the reality s–t, dude. I’m out on that s–t.”
Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason has been a smash hit, but it seems like he’s content to let his 2016 dating show Catching Kelce be his last foray into reality programming, at least for now.
We already know Kelce is already in the limelight plenty thanks to his high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift. Perhaps he feels he has no room for anymore prying into his day-to-day life.
Even without Kelce, Receiver has secured a stellar cast, with star wide receivers Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, Deebo Samuel and Amon-Ra St. Brown being featured, along with elite tight end George Kittle.
The series is slated to debut later this summer.
