The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are on the hunt for their next offensive coordinator following the departure of Tommy Rees earlier this offseason.
Rees, Notre Dame’s star OC, recently accepted a new job as offensive coordinator under Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa.
Kansas State offensive coordinator Collin Klein had been considered a top candidate to take over as offensive play caller in South Bend, but it appears those discussions have since fallen through.
After an interview with the program, Klein is no longer a candidate for the job, per college football insider Heather Dinich.
K-State OC Collin Klein is no longer a candidate for the ND OC position. He did have conversations and interview, according to sources.

Klein, quarterbacks coach for the Wildcats since 2017, took over the Kansas State offensive coordinator job prior to the 2022 season. In his first season as solo OC, the Wildcats went 10-4 and eclipsed the 40-point mark in five different games.
Colorado’s Sean Lewis and Utah’s Andy Ludwig have also been mentioned as candidates for the Notre Dame job.
