Notes
- Tight End Brayden Loftin was listed on the depth chart last week but was held back for another game. He is expected to return to the field against Kansas.
- Carver Willis did not play against West Virginia but is expected back against Kansas. Andrew Leingang started in his place
- Hadley Panzer was injured in the second half against West Virginia and did not return. Sounds like he’ll be a gametime decision for this one. Even if he plays, I’d expect a healthy dose of Leingang at left guard.

Notes
- To my pleasant surprise, after losing multiple members of the secondary to injury against Colorado, K-State managed to get everyone healthy against West Virginia.
- The ‘Cats suffered the first major injury of the season on defense. Reserve middle linebacker Beau Palmer is out for the year with a knee injury.
- I assume Terry Kirksey is the next man up at middle linebacker.
- K-State has started the same defensive line and linebackers in every game this season.

Overall
The only real area of concern, injury wise, is the offensive line. It sounds like Carver is good to go but Panzer makes me nervous. When someone’s “toughness” is going to be required to play, it’s not a good sign. Luckily, K-State essentially has 6 starters with Leingang in the fold. Holding onto him was crucial this off-season, he’d start on 90% of the offensive lines in the country and that’s a conservative estimate.
On defense, losing Palmer hurts depth. He’s a prototypical K-State masher at linebacker, ready to lay it all on the line for EMAW. It sucks that he got injured, especially before the Kansas game. I’m sure he would have knocked a few feathers off the prairie chickens. Now it’s time to see what Terry Kirksey can do in a more prominent role. The staff has been careful with his progress. The physical tools are there, now it’s time to see them on the field.
Other than that, it looks like full systems go on Saturday.
