The Kentucky Wildcats are already favorites in today’s game against Kansas State despite being the lower seed. But they may be playing with a little more fire in them after some recent bulletin board material they gained.
Ahead of the big 3-seed vs. 6-seed game, two Kansas State players spoke pretty confidently about their chances of beating Kentucky. Keyontae Johnson and Nae’Qwan Tomlin said that they feel confident because they’ve beaten an SEC team (LSU) earlier this year.
“I mean, I feel like if we just focus on ourselves, we’ll be fine. I mean, we are still watching film, still learning them, but I feel like we have — like he said, we’re in the toughest conference, so we faced different styles of play and how different teams play,” Johnson said, via Saturday Down South. “We played an SEC team before, so, I mean, I don’t think it will be anything hard that we can’t contain really.”
Tomlin doubled down, declaring that his team doesn’t anticipate Kentucky giving them too much trouble with the exception of Oscar Tshiebwe.
“Yeah, like what Keyontae said, I don’t think it will be something that will be much of a challenge besides Oscar (Tshiebwe), but, you know…,” Tomlin said.

Just about everyone in Big Blue Nation is looking forward to using Johnson and Tomlin as bulletin board material for today’s game.
The game will be played at 2:40 p.m. ET and will air on CBS.
