Class of 2024 four-star forward Rakease Passmore has committed to Kansas, he announced Wednesday evening on 247Sports.
The Combine Academy (NC.) product chooses the Jayhawks over LSU and Oklahoma, giving Kansas the No. 3 recruiting class nationally, per 247.
“Their winning culture,” he said on 247 of why he made the decision. “They win a lot, I like to win. Bill Self is one of the greatest coaches in college so he thinks I fit in.”
Passmore visited Kansas last weekend and ultimately lands in Lawrence.
“I have been building a relationship with them for a good while now,” Passmore said to ZAGSBLOG before his commitment. “They came in last year and we have been texting ever since. We just built a close relationship.”

Passmore becomes Kansas’s third commit in an already star-studded 2024 class. The 6-foot-5 wing joins five-star big man Flory Bidunga and four-star guard Labaron Philon.
The commitment comes on the same day the NCAA’s IARP gave Kansas three years of probation and ordered the program to vacate 15 wins as the result of a six-year investigation into recruiting infractions.
“I’m very happy that it’s over,” Kansas coach Bill Self said at the news conference. “I’m certainly happy with the end results, and at the same time don’t feel like a celebration mode, because this is exactly what we felt the end result would be years ago. … I am eager to move forward without this cloud hovering over our program.”
