Labaron Philon, the 6-foot-4, four-star point guard from Link Academy (MO), committed to Kansas Monday night.
Philon, an Alabama native who runs with the Team Thad AAU program, chose the Jayhawks over Alabama, Ole Miss and Cincinnati. He is ranked the No. 3 point guard and No. 27 overall prospect in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports.com.
“I chose Kansas because my game can fit into their system really well,” Philon told On3.com. “Coach (Bill) Self is one of the best coaches ever and I can come in and make a big impact for the team.”

Philon initially committed to Auburn in February before decommitting in April.
The point guard recently transferred to Link Academy for his senior season after winning Mr. Basketball in the state of Alabama for Baker High.
He averaged 35 points, six points and four rebounds per game for Baker as a junior.
Philon joins 6-10 five-star big man Flory Bidunga in Kansas’s 2024 class.
Among others, Kansas remains in the mix for five-star Montverde (FL) Academy forward Cooper Flagg, who visits Oct. 6-8 and is also considering Duke and UConn, and his five-star teammate Liam McNeeley, who is down to Kansas and Indiana.
Four-star wing Isaiah Elohim of Sierra Canyon (CA) is also down to Kansas, Arkansas and Villanova and will announce soon.
