Good one to shake off the dust
Well they couldn’t cover the spread but still a good first win. The Kansas Jayhawks beat the hell out of the Lindenwood Lions, 48-3 in Children’s Mercy Park Thursday night. After a shaky first quarter that saw a fumble and an interception, the Jayhawks stepped on the gas in the second quarter to jump ahead to a 34-0 halftime lead.
In his first game back in nearly a year, Jalon Daniels threw for 148 yards and, 1 TD and 1 interception. Notable, the junior QB had no rushes in his 2 quarters of play. Redshirt sophomore Cole Ballard entered the game after halftime and thew for 51 yards and 1 TD.
The KU defense came to play today, giving up only garbage time points. Mello Dotson took a pick 6 for a 33 yard touchdown. Dotson led the team with 5 solo tackles.
Apart from some first quarter nerves, this game went pretty much as well as any KU could have hoped. We came. We kicked ass. And we left with no injuries. Not much more you could ask for in a first game against a Big South team.
Kansas will travel to Champaign, IL next week to take on the Illinois Fighting Illini
