Please don’t let Colorado get their first Big 12 win at AFH
Kansas hosts Colorado tonight, with the struggling Buffaloes looking for their first league win of the season. Here are some things to know about tonight’s matchup:
-Colorado ranks 107th per Torvik and 106th per KenPom (Kansas is 12th and 10th, respectively)
-The Buffaloes started 9-2 with a win over UConn, but have since lost 12 straight, dating back to the start of Big 12 play
-Colorado doesn’t shoot many threes, ranking outside the top 200 teams in 3P rate, and they shoot a middling 34%
-They turn the ball over on nearly 22% of their possessions, 353rd nationally
-CU greatly struggles on the offensive boards, and ranks outside the top 200 on the defensive glass as well
-The Buffaloes have a respectable block rate, but still allow opponents to shoot just over 50% from two
-Look out for Julian Hammond III, a senior guard shooting 40.4% on 104 three point attempts, leading the team in both scoring and assists by a fairly wide margin
-6’11 center Bangot Dak is another player to watch. He doesn’t play a ton of minutes but is a proven shot blocker and isn’t afraid to shoot from behind the arc. He may see extra action tonight in an effort to make life harder for Hunter Dickinson
-Kansas is currently a 17.5 point favorite
