KU Gets First Taste of Playing Without Harris
Kansas men’s basketball coach Bill Self believed he was going to have his point guard Dajuan Harris Jr. for Tuesday night’s game against UCF — the same way he had Harris in the fold for the prior 159 games, including 98 in a row as a starter.
“We thought he was playing this morning,” Self said. “We thought he was fine this morning and obviously he goes out to shootaround and couldn’t do anything on it.”
The No. 11 Jayhawks played without point guard Dajuan Harris Jr. for the first time in nearly five years after he tweaked his ankle in practice. And the Knights had them on the brink of back-to-back losses at Allen Fieldhouse for the first time since Roy Williams was in his first season roaming the Kansas sideline nearly 36 years ago.

There is something unstable at the most basic level about any space with too much capitalism happening in it. The air is all wrong, there’s simultaneously too much in it and not enough of it. Everyone I spoke to about the Consumer Electronics Show before I went to it earlier this month kept describing it in terms that involved wetness in some way. I took this as a warning, which I believe was the spirit in which it was intended, but I felt prepared for it.
