We are just over a week away from the return of college football and with the release of the Preseason AP top 25 on Monday, the two major weekly polls and preseason conference polls have all been released. So, we now have a greater understanding of where KU’s opponents for the 2024 season are slated heading into the year.

Kansas basketball added the final piece to its roster for the 2024-25 season late last week when transfer David Coit announced his intention to join the KU program. The Northern Illinois transfer was then officially announced as a formal addition to KU’s transfer class on Monday, when it was announced by KU that Coit had signed with the program. He will be a senior this upcoming season, his final year of eligibility.

The Kansas football program is officially set to begin the 2024 season as a ranked team. KU comes in at No. 22 in the Preseason AP Top 25. It’s just the seventh time in program history that the Jayhawks will begin a football season as one of the top 25 teams in the preseason poll as voted on by media members. KU is one of five Big 12 teams in the preseason poll.

The secretary of state’s office estimates that 577,971 valid signatures were turned in by Arizona for Abortion Access, a coalition of reproductive rights organizations that includes the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona. The signature haul far surpassed the 383,923 signatures required to make it onto the ballot. The Arizona for Abortion Access Act will go before voters under the title “Proposition 139.”
