How KU tweaked its practice schedule to accommodate its first short week in five years
For the first time since the 2019 season, Kansas football is facing a short week. The Jayhawks will go Saturday-Friday, as UNLV heads to Kansas City to take on KU on Friday night. Both teams played this past Saturday, with KU losing to Illinois on the road and UNLV defeating Utah Tech at home. The last time KU played on a short week was when KU took on Boston College in Chestnut Hill off the back of a loss to Coastal Carolina. KU beat Boston college, 48-24, on the short week.
Kickoff time, TV info announced for KU’s Week 4 contest with West Virginia
We now know when Kansas football’s Big 12 opener will begin. On Monday, the conference announced kickoff times for its Week 4 games, which includes KU’s trip east to take on West Virginia. The game will kick off at 11 a.m. CT and it will be televised on ESPN2.

Kansas and UNLV are set to face off on Friday night at Children’s Mercy Park in what is a rematch of the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The Jayhawks will be looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season on Saturday, while the Rebels look to start the season 3-0.
Kansas to wear an alternate uniform against UNLV in Week 3
When Kansas football takes the field for its final non-conference game of the season on Friday night, the Jayhawks will do so wearing their “Blackhawk” uniforms. The school announced the return of the jerseys in an announcement on Monday morning. KU will wear them against UNLV at Children’s Mercy Park, with the contest kicking off at 6 p.m. CT and the game being televised on ESPN.
