After withdrawing from the NBA Draft, Connor Vanover, the 7-foot-3 Arkansas native and Oral Roberts transfer, has committed to Missouri, as first reported by Joe Tipton.
Vanover, who turns 24 this month, averaged 12.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks last season. He will help replace some of the production lost with the departures of D’Moi Hodge, DeAndre Gholston, and Kobe Brown.
“I chose Missouri because of fit and style of play,” he told On3. “They have one of the top offenses in America and I am excited to be a part of what Coach [Dennis] Gates is building in Columbia. I loved my visit meeting and spending time with staff. I feel my unique skill set can help compliment many areas.”
Missouri will be his fourth school after one season at Cal, three at Arkansas (including one redshirt) and one at Oral Roberts. He credited associate head coach David Nutt with recruiting him.
“Coach Nutt and I had a good connection from our first phone call with his ties with Little Rock,” he told On3. “Coach Gates is one of the hottest coaches in America. I believe they can help me reach more of my potential than I have before.”
