The future is in their hands.
The Royals announced their minor league coaching staffs for 2025, with few changes. Mike Jirschele will begin his 34th year in the organization, again leading the Omaha Storm Chasers in Triple-A.
Assisting Jirschele in Omaha will be returning hitting coach Bijan Rademacher, pitching coach Dane Johnson, and assistant pitching coach David Lundquist. Joining the staff are assistant hitting coach Darin Everson, a Driveline-certified coach who was in the Mets organization last year, and coach Pat Osborn, who has managed in the Yankees organization.
Brooks Conrad moves up one level to manage the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals, replacing Tommy Shields. Larry Carter returns as pitching coach with Sam Eades as assistant pitching coach, with Adam LaRoche returning as hitting coach and Chris Corbett moving up a level to join the team as assistant hitting coach. Kevin Kuntz, son of former Royals coach Rusty Kuntz, returns as a coach.
Jesus Azuaje moves up to manage High-A Quad Cities after leading Columbia last year. Pitching coach Derrick Lewis and hitting coach Ryan Powers return, with Clayton Mortensen joining the organization as an assistant pitching coach after spending last year in the Cubs organization and Kyle MacKinnon moving up as assistant hitting coach.
David Noworyta will manage for the first time, after spending last year as a coach on Jirschele’s staff in Omaha. The former Tigers farmhand will lead Low-A Columbia with Taylor Bloye and Julio Pimentel on his staff as pitching coaches, and Ramón Castro as hitting coach with Tripp Keister as another coach.
Larry Sutton returns to lead the Arizona Summer League team. Jesús Delgado, Christopher Marte, and Ken Knutson will serve on his staff on the pitching side with Wilson Betemit Sr., Chris Nelson, and Joel Rivera on the hitting side, with Jesús Atencio as another coach.
Ramón Martínez and Sergio De Luna will lead teams in the Dominican Summer League with Leonel Santiago joining the team as a pitching coach along with returning coach José Veras. Rosell Herrera and Fernando Martínez will serve as hitting coaches, with Quilvio Veras Sr. and Onil Joseph also serving on the coaching staff.
Mitch Maier returns as Director of Player Development with Paul Gibson serving as Senior Director of Pitching Performance and Drew Saylor serving as Director of Hitting Performance. Scott Thorman, Omar Ramirez, J.C. Boscan, Paul Menhart, Tony Pena Jr., Tommy Shields, Nic Jackson, and Abraham Nunez will all serve as minor league coordinators and Rusty Kuntz and Chino Cahadia serve as special advisors.
