Carter Jensen is smoking the ball in Arizona.
Kevin O’Brien at Royals Reporter checks in on Royals prospects in the Arizona Fall League.
The Royals’ 2024 1st overall pick, Jac Caglianone, started as fans’ most anticipated prospect playing in the Arizona Fall League. However, with the AFL beginning to reach its conclusion, Royals fans have realized that catcher Carter Jensen may be the most intriguing prospect to pay attention to when pitchers and catchers report in 2025.
Jensen is hitting .273 with a 1.130 OPS with the Saguaros. He also hit his third home run of the year on Monday afternoon against the first-place Mesa Solar Sox.
Hey, Jensen homered again last night!
We interrupt your regularly scheduled timeline of (?????) for yet ANOTHER home run in the AFL from Carter Jensen.

Matt Chabot at Farm to Fountains has a mock off-season article up.
Outfield is the main concern of most Royals fans, and they may feel that my additions aren’t enough but hear me out. The key addition here is Michael Conforto to bat in the middle of the order and add some consistency. Some may feel that Conforto isn’t enough, but I think he can bring a lot to this team. Conforto has consistently had above a .700 OPS over every year of his career. We know what he brings to the table and what he can do for the team. He is not an elite fielder by any stretch of the imagination, but he is serviceable in the field and will be able to play out there and he brings a big arm similar to Renfroe.
Over his career he has been better against RHP and with his addition Quataro gets a lot of flexibility. Rather than going after an everyday RF, they get a guy who can contribute but go with more of a rotation in the OF. Conforto also adds insurance, there is hope MJ Melendez can make some major improvements with the bat, but if this doesn’t happen, Conforto can play both sides and hit both sides as needed. But with this addition I would expect to see Quataro mix and match some, with Melendez and Conforto against RHP and Renfroe in the lineup against lefties.
The Kansas City Business Journal looks at the pros and cons of potential downtown ballpark sites, including the Washington Square Park proposal.
Pros: Land assembly for a Washington Square Park stadium could involve just a few transactions — one with Blue KC, a willing private seller, and another involving the city’s Parks & Recreation Department. A ballpark wouldn’t require demolishing any occupied buildings. The site also could complement nearby attractions like Crown Center and connect to the developing Freight House District to the north. Proponents say it would offer unmatched transit access, from direct streetcar access and potential future regional rail service to Union Station, on top of existing interstate connections in the vicinity.
Cons: Washington Square Park would present a tight fit. Unofficial concepts have shown an asymmetrical stadium design, with potential for a “road diet” for Grand Boulevard. Whether the 5-acre park should be preserved or ceded to the Royals also has been publicly debated. It’s an open question whether the city’s parks board would approve a change in use, even after one dissenting member was replaced. And it remains unclear what public financing the Royals may pursue from the city and state, in lieu of the Jackson County sales tax sought for prior Downtown proposals.
