Freeman provided some Gordon-esque heroics. Can the Dodgers take a commanding two game lead before heading across the country?
For those of you who didn’t watch game one, you missed a hell of a game. Tonight’s game promises to be a barn burner as well.
Carlos Rodón will pitch for the Yankees. He has a 4.40 ERA this postseason, but most of that came from getting roughed up by the Royals in the ALDS. He was much better in two starts against the Guardians in the ALCS.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be making his first World Series start in his first year in Major League Baseball with the Dodgers after signing a massive deal during the offseason to come to them from Japan. His 5.11 ERA these playoffs also comes courtesy of a bad first start in the NLDS against the Padres, he has been significantly better since then as well.
And, of course, the marquee matchup is the super heavyweight bout between MVP-presumptives Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. Judge has continued his career-long playoff struggles and the Yankees need him to break out of it if they’re going to come back in this series. Ohtani has continued to be his transcendent self while leading off for the Dodgers.
